Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbours, friends, and leaders who take action to create lasting change locally and around the world. Members of Rotary clubs, like the Rotary Club of Bristol, volunteer their time, skills, and resources to tackle important issues: supporting communities, improving health and education, promoting peace, protecting the environment and helping people in crisis. Rotary is non-political, non-religious, and open to anyone who shares its values of service, integrity, and fellowship. It’s not some kind of exclusive group or secret society. Rotary is for everyone who wants to make a difference to their communities and give back!
If you want to meet new people from all walks of life, build new friendships and make a difference to communities, locally and internationally, then Rotary is for you. At the Bristol Rotary Club, you will be warmly welcomed and feel at home with like-minded people in a growing, diverse group. It’s a lot less expensive to be a member than you might think. Consider this your invitation to join. We’d love to have you! See Join Us and Contact Us for more information.
Bristol Rotary Club is a group of individuals with a common desire to give back to society locally in Bristol and throughout the world. The club has over 40 members and is part of Rotary International - a global network of more than 1.4 million neighbours, friends, and leaders volunteering their skills and resources to solve issues and address community needs.
Bristol Rotary Club has a range of projects for members to volunteer. These include projects that help young people build skills, such as mock interviews, public speaking, music and cooking competitions, as well as environmental projects like litter-picking around Bristol and testing water in local rivers. Other projects involve fundraising or organising social events for the membership. Members choose projects that interest them most and we are always open to proposals for new ventures.
At Bristol Rotary Club, we are proud of our diversity in ethnicity and culture, and women now make up one-third of our membership. Our members range in age from their 30s to their 80s and are people from all walks of life – some working and some retired with careers in business, public sector, care, IT, accountants, teachers, engineers, doctors and more.
Like all Rotary Clubs, the charities we support change from year to year. Local charities we have supported in recent years include Help Bristol’s Homeless, The Julian Trust, the Great Western Air Ambulance, The Lord Mayor’s Appeal for Children, The Creative Youth Network and Empire Fighting Chance. Recent overseas charities we have supported include The Bujagali Trust in Uganda, The Pahar Trust in Nepal, and Physionet sending medical equipment to countries such as Ukraine Fiji, Lesotho, Zimbabwe.
Yes, they certainly can. The very best way to partner with us is to become a member. This is becoming more and more popular since it is a partnership. If your organisation wants to connect with the community and give back, that aspiration is totally aligned with Rotary. We can work together to have a better reach and more powerful impact. It’s a classic WIN - WIN situation. We have created a particular form of membership designed to suit not just businesses but any small to medium sized organisations. You might be a school, a charity or any other form of organisation
Your support can change lives. Whether you’re donating, volunteering, or partnering with us, every action counts.
